2019 Income Tax Brackets

You can no longer electronically file a 2019 or previous year tax return on eFile.com or anywhere. Find tools and resources to estimate and plan a 2019 Return if you did not file by the deadline. Then, prepare and e-file your current year return on eFile.com until October 15 following a given tax year. If you are owed a tax refund from your 2019 Return, you have three years to claim it or your refund will go the U.S. Treasury. File your current year return online on eFile.com so the eFile Tax App can generate the forms and handle all the complicated math.

Important: the IRS ruled that late filing penalties for 2019 and 2020 Returns are were abated or refunded if a taxpayer already claimed them. The IRS extended the penalty deadline so that they only begin accruing for returns filed after September 30, 2022 instead of the regular due date. Any returns filed before this date did not face any penalties; returns filed after this due date will see a penalty beginning at usually 5% of the taxes due, up to 25%. See more details on tax penalties.

2019 Tax Brackets,

For example, your 2019 Taxable Income - not tax-free income - will be taxed at different IRS income tax brackets or rates based on income tax brackets by tax year and your personal tax return filing status.

Keep in mind, you might be able to reduce your taxable income and/or increase your tax free income and fall into lower tax rates once you factor in tax deductions, tax credits or other tax savings factors. Thus, we suggest you not only look at the many tax calculator tools here, but also calculate and estimate your current year tax return refund now. In addition, make sure you adjust your W-4 or tax withholding throughout any given tax year; use the W-4 tax withholding tax calculator for that. The W-4 for previous years is no longer relevant.

Find previous tax year tax rate tables by income tax bracket and filing status. You can also calculate your tax rates for previous tax years with the RATEucator at the top of this page.
