Are you still in the process of preparing and e-filing your New York taxes, or are you simply checking the status of your New York tax refund?

Before you proceed to check your refund status, ensure that your tax return has been filed or e-filed and accepted by the New York Department of Revenue.

Here's how to proceed:

Step 1: If you prepared and e-filed your New York state tax return on eFile.com, log in to your eFile.com account. You can check your New York filing status by clicking on "My Return" in the upper left menu - refer to the image below. Note: If you filed your New York tax return by paper or through another website, check there first to confirm if the return has been accepted.
