You can select one of these payment options either after you have e-filed or filed your 2023 Kentucky Tax Return. Alternatively, you can pay Kentucky income taxes here prior to filing (e.g in the case of an extension). Plus, you can make online Kentucky tax estimate payments for next tax year. If you eFiled your taxes and pay online, you do not have to send in Kentucky paper forms (e.g. payer tax return, extension form, or tax estimate form).

Go to the Kentucky Department of Revenue EEPS to submit your payment. You will need to enter your demographic information and choose "Tax Account Number" as the account type. After choosing the account type, select "Individual Income Tax - (Account Number is the Social Security Number) as your "Tax Type" and enter "ACH/Electronic Check" as your "Payment Type".
After submitting your payment, you can print your payment confirmation for your records.
This is a free option if you want to pay your taxes owed via your bank account.
Submit a tax payment through the state tax agency's EEPS site. Follow the instructions as above but choose "Credit/Debit Card" as the "Payment Type".
Use this payment option if you want to pay your tax payment via your credit or debit card. There is a convenience fee of 2.75% for credit cards, and 1.5% for debit cards per transaction.
Check or Money Order with Form 740-V
Complete voucher Form 740-Vand attach it to your check or money order payable to "Kentucky State Treasurer". Write your Name, Address, SSN, and "2023 Form 740" on the check or money order. Mail them to the Form 740-V address below.
Use this payment option if you wish to submit your payment via check or money order in the mail.
Estimated Tax Payment Options
Choose one of these options: 1) Go to the Kentucky Department of Revenue EEPS site to submit your estimated payment. Enter your demographic information and "Tax Account Number" as your account type. Then choose "Individual Income Tax - Estimated Payment (Account Number is the Social Security Number) as your "Tax Type". 2) Pay via ACH credit by sending tax payments from your bank account by choosing "ACH/Checking" as your "Payment Type" and choose your correct "Estimated Installment Period". You may need to contact your bank to make arrangements with them to credit the Kentucky bank account with funds from your bank account. Your bank will inform you about the ACH services it offers and any related costs. 3) Pay via credit or debit card follow the instructions above but choose "Credit/Debit Card" as your "Payment Type" Be aware that a convenience fee of 2.75% for credit cards and 1.5% for debit cards per transaction. 4) Complete voucher Form 740-ES. Attach a check or money order for the tax period payable to "Kentucky State Treasurer". Write your Social Security number on the check or money order. Mail the voucher and check/money order to the Form 740-ES address here.
