Problem: The IRS - not eFile.com rejected your Federal Tax Return because the Spouse SSN entered is locked because the individual has deceased.
Solution: Sign into your eFile.com account: https://mytaxes.efile.com/1040/SignIn/, click Names & Address and check the spouse's SSN. Once you have corrected this continue with your re-eFile process. You can re-eFile your return at no additional charge as many times as it takes to get it accepted.
In some cases the IRS rejects incorrectly. In that case go to "My Account" in eFile.com and download, sign, print paper file your return via mail or call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040.
