IRS Tax Return Rejection Code SEIC-F1040

Problem: The IRS—not—rejected your tax return because the Social Security Number (SSN) or birth year of one or more of your dependents does not match the data in the IRS e-file database.

Solution: Sign into your account, click on My Return, and follow the instructions on the right side to correct this. You can find your dependent information under Federal Taxes > Dependents. Once you have made the correction, click File to re-efile for free.

If, however, you have entered everything correctly, then the IRS or Social Security Administration may have inaccurate records. You will need to print and mail your return for this purpose. See printing and mailing instructions plus addresses based on your resident state.
