CA Tax Return Rejection Code SCHCA/NR-170

Problem: The State of California - not eFile.com - rejected your return because there is problem with Schedule CA 540.

Solution: Sign into your eFile.com account at https://mytaxes.efile.com/1040/SignIn/. Click on My Return in the upper left for more detailed information on the lower right side on how to correct this:

Schedule CA (540, Part II or 540NR, Part III), Line 8d, column (A), (B) and (C) [MortgageInsurancePremiums] must be equal to zero if present.

Schedule CA (540, Part II or 540NR, Part III), Line 8d, column (A), (B) and (C) [MortgageInsurancePremiums] must be equal to zero if present.

Schedule CA (540, Part II or 540NR, Part III), Line 10, column (B) [TotalInterestPaid] must equal to Line 9 [InvestmentInterest].

Click on File on the left side and go through the checkout again. After you have made the correction you can re-eFile your Returns at no additional charge as often as needed.
