IL Tax Return Rejection Code IL1040-8000

Problem: The IL State Tax Agency—not eFile.com—rejected your IL State Tax Return because your IL signature for yourself and/or your spouse does not match the IL Department of Revenue's records.

Solution: Let us help you turn this into an IL state acceptance.

Please sign into your eFile.com account at https://mytaxes.efile.com/1040/SignIn/, click File on the left side menu in your account, and follow all the on-screen prompts until you reach the screen asking for your IL signature. You can enter one of three options for your IL signature: 1) Your 2018 AGI on your IL return, 2) Your 8-digit IL-PIN, which you can obtain from the tax agency website here: https://www.revenue.state.il.us/app/pini/servlet/PINInquiry or 3) Your IL driver's license or state ID number. If you do not have any of this information, you can not eFile your return and thus must PRINT your return from your account, sign it, and MAIL it to the IL State Tax Agency.
