AZ Tax Return Rejection Code 901

Problem: The IRS—not eFile.com—rejected your Federal Tax Return, and as a result, your AZ return was rejected as well. This is not done by eFile.com, but rather by the IRS/State. The tax return has been rejected because the Social Security Number (SSN) that was entered for the primary taxpayer has already been used on another tax return.

Solution: Sign into your eFile.com account, click Name and Address information and enter the correct SSN. If the number is correct, did you or somebody else already file a return with your SSN? If the number is not correct, correct it and continue with your re-eFile process. You can re-eFile your return at no additional charge.

In some cases, the IRS incorrectly rejects a tax return. In that case, go to "My Account" in eFile.com and download, sign, print, and paper file your return via mail, or call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 or State of Arizona Dep. of Revenue, Taxation.
