A: Access MA Forms

Step 1: Sign in to eFile.com
Step 2: Click on State Taxes on the left menu.
On the right page click on the link I'd like to see the forms I've filled out or search for a form
Step 3: Scroll to the Massachusetts State Forms drop-down, click on the the right down arrow
Step 4: Click the form in question and review, edit the entries and save.
or Step 5: Use the MA search box to search for other forms or click on the links below the search box
Step 6: Click on Add Form next to the form name, complete, save and continue.

B: MA State Tax Amendment

You can prepare an Massachusetts Tax Amendment for the current tax year here on eFile.com; the amendment can not be e-filed. After you have prepared the amendment, download the PDF from your My Account, check the box and mail in the form.

C: Rent Deductions on Rent Paid in MA

Add the MA - Income Tax Form - or Income Tax Page for MA - see above. Once the page is added go through the questions and you will be asked about the Rent Deduction during the interview. After you have added your information please save and continue.
The entries will then show for residents and part-year residents Massachusetts Form 1 Line 14a or Massachusetts Form 1-NR PY Line 18a -
Residents and part-year residents should then divide the total amount by 2 so the allowable amount will show on: Massachusetts Form 1 Line 14, or Massachusetts Form 1-NR PY on Line 18.

D: Massachusetts Tax Return Residency Status

You're a nonresident if you are not a full-year or a part-year resident of MA. This status is based on your residency status and not on the US Visa you hold.
In case your employer incorrectly withheld Massachusetts income tax, file a Massachusetts nonresident/Part-Year Resident Return here on eFile.com or Form 1-NR/PY and request a refund. Submit a letter from your employer along with the return, which verifies that you didn't work in Massachusetts.
