How to Obtain efile.com Account Verification Code, Username, Password

2. You will go to this screen after you enter your username and password:

3. Once you click the blue button, you will see this information:

Check your email inbox for the email containing your 6-digit confirmation code.

4. Enter the code in the white box and click the green "Submit code and log me in" button.

I Don't See an Email in My Inbox. Where is My Code?

The email containing your code might have landed in your spam or junk folder, so check that folder if the email is not in your inbox.

I Checked My Inbox and Spam/Junk Folder and the Email is Not There. What Do I Do?

Click the blue "Resend email" link to have the code resent to your email address.

I Still Did Not Receive the Verification Code? Now What?

You may want to switch to a different browser and/or clear your browsing history, then request the code again. 

I No Longer Have Access to the Email Address That's in My Account. Is There Another Way to Verify My Account?

Click the blue "What if I can't access my email" button and you will be asked to answer security questions to access your account. Unfortunately, if you provide incorrect answers, you will asked to create a new account (this is required for security purposes).

How Do I Request My efile.com Username?

  1. Go to the sign into your efile.com account screen and click the blue "Having trouble signing into your account" link.
  2. You are now on the "Account Recovery" screen. On that screen, click the "Forgot username" link, enter your email address in the white box that appears, and click the green "Get Username" button.
  3. Check your email inbox for an automated email from "noreply@1040.com." This email contains your username. If the email is not in your inbox, it might have landed in your spam or junk folder.

How I Request My efile.com Password?

  1. Go to the sign into your efile.com account screen and click the blue "Having trouble signing into your account" link.
  2. You are now on the "Account Recovery" screen. On that screen, click the "Forgot password" link, enter your username in the white box that appears, and click the green "Get Password" button.
  3. Check your email inbox for an automated email from "noreply@1040.com." This email contains a timed link to click (it usually expires within 20 minutes). If the email is not in your inbox, it might have landed in your spam or junk folder.
  4. After you click the link, you will go to a screen to enter and confirm a new password.

How Do I Recover My efile.com Account?

  1. Go to the sign into your efile.com account screen and click the blue "Having trouble signing into your account" link.
  2. You are now on the "Account Recovery" screen. On that screen, click the "Forgot both, or forgot email" link, enter the requested information, and click the green "Find Account" button.
  3. Once you're signed into your account, you will need to reset your password on the "My Account" screen.
