Copy of Old Tax Return - Tax Year 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004
If You Prepared and efiled a Tax Return on efile.com for Tax Year 2008 or an Earlier Tax Year:
In order to enhance our protection of your tax information and personal identity, in 2009 we launched a completely new username and password system. If you had an efile.com username and password for Tax Year 2008 or a prior tax year, you will need to register again and create a new username and password in order to file a tax return for the current tax year and future years.
If you did not prepare or efile your last tax return on efile.com, you do NOT need a copy of it in order to prepare and efile your tax return for the current tax year. Instead of using your previous year AGI to efile your return, you can easily obtain a new PIN and use that to efile.

What if I Need a Copy of an Old Tax Return for Another Reason?
If you need information from an old tax return, you can order a full copy of it from the IRS, but that will cost you $57.00. Instead of a full copy, you can order a transcript of your tax return, which includes all or most of the information from your tax return, and is FREE.

What if My Old eFile User Name and Password Do Not Work?
In order to further protect your tax information and personal identity, we have launched a completely new username and password system. Therefore, your old username and password may not work under "Returning Users"; you will need to create a new account. After creating a new account, please sign in under "Returning Users".

We recognize that this change is inconvenient for you and regret that very much. We implemented this change in the interest of efile.com users - please view this as short term pain and a long term gain.
