Here is the good news, you can still:
- Prepare and eFile your federal and state taxes until October 15, 2008.
- After October 15, 2008 you can use efile.com to prepare, print and mail your tax return. After that, you will no longer be able to e-file your 2007 tax return with the IRS. You will have to mail in your return.
- In the case you eFiled or filed for a 6-months federal tax extension on or before April 15, 2008, your deadline to eFile or file a 2007 tax year return is October 15, 2008.
- If you eFile your tax return now via eFile.com you can, at a later point, amend your tax return by mailing in FORM 1040X.
Attention:
- The IRS might apply late fee penalties plus interest on taxes owed.
- If you expect a tax refund the IRS late fee penalties might not apply.
What if I owe more than I can pay?
